Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London on the 22nd of August 1995. After a stint as an actress and model she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. It reached the number three spot at the top of the U.K. albums chart and featured eight singles which included the U.K. top-ten track New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa's album, which has now been recognized as Platinum in several countries around the world, won her two Brit Awards (in the year 2018) in the categories of British female single artist as well as British Breakthrough artist. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa is Bosnian descent by the maternal grandparents of her. It is also possible to trace her ancestry in Peja from Kosovo. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. Lipa's father, the musician and lead singer from the Kosovan the band Oda was a major influence on her music. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music which featured his original compositions, as well as songs such David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics.
